Hello I'm Jennie Grossmith
I believe I was destined to be an equity release adviser from a very early age! My career began as a sales negotiator for an estate agent which I thoroughly enjoyed. Property fascinates me and being a naturally inquisitive person I love to see behind closed doors!
After a period of five years I moved to Aberdeen where I joined Alliance & Leicester (Santander) as a mortgage/customer service adviser. It was interesting for me to move into a different relationship with property.
In 1996 I was given the opportunity to become a Financial Consultant which allowed me to progress through my qualifications and advise on savings and investments as well as mortgages and protection. In 1999 a move back to Merseyside saw me move to Aviva (formerly Norwich Union). It was at this point I was introduced to Equity Release.
This is a product that I wholeheartedly believe in. In 2005 more and more providers where entering the market and I decided to leave Aviva in favour of a role as an Independent Financial Adviser, so that I could source more competitive products from the whole of the market for my clients.
I completed my accreditation as a Later Life Adviser and was a member of the Society of Later Life Advisers (SOLLA) from 2011 until 2014 which saw me give advice on Long Term Care. After many hours of study I was delighted to achieve my Diploma in Financial Planning at the end of 2012. I am also a member of the Personal Finance Society (PFS).
I believe my strengths lie in my ability to listen to my client’s needs and tailor my recommendations around their needs. I am committed to giving my clients a first class service from the first contact until completion and beyond. Getting to know my customers is not just a job, but also a pleasure.
A chance conversation regarding a client’s dog having pups lead me on a long drive to South Wales at Christmas 2014 in order to pick up the new member of our family – a border collie pup called Jimmy!
I am based on the Wirral & will happily deal with any enquiries across the UK. I look forward to hearing from you.
